Keir Starmer's Wife, Victoria: A Behind-the-Scenes Look
A Private Life in the Public Eye
As the wife of Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, Victoria Starmer has emerged as a pillar of strength and support for her husband. Despite the intense media scrutiny that comes with her position, Victoria has maintained a quiet and dignified presence, focusing on her family and supporting her husband's political career.
From Victoria Alexander to Lady Starmer
Born Victoria Alexander and known affectionately as "Vic" to her friends and family, Victoria met Keir while they were both studying law at Leeds University in the early 1980s. They married in 2005 and have two children together. After her husband's election as Labour leader in 2020, Victoria became Lady Starmer, inheriting a title traditionally bestowed upon the spouse of the Opposition leader.
Unlike some former Prime Ministers' wives, such as Akshata Murty (wife of Rishi Sunak) who had a prominent role in her husband's political career, Victoria has chosen to take a more private approach. She rarely grants interviews and prefers to support her husband from behind the scenes.
