In 1974, Omega released the album "Omega Red Star" in the United Kingdom, featuring English translations of some of their most popular songs. The album was a commercial success and helped introduce the band to a wider audience.

Kóbor János was married to Judit Kóbor-Kőszegi and had two children. He was known for his quiet and introspective personality, despite his energetic stage presence.

In 2021, Kóbor János passed away at the age of 78 after a long illness. His death was a significant loss for the Hungarian music scene and fans around the world.
