Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, was assassinated on April 14, 1865, by stage actor John Wilkes Booth. Lincoln was shot in the head while attending a performance of "Our American Cousin" at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C. He died the following day.
James A. Garfield
James A. Garfield, the 20th president of the United States, was assassinated on July 2, 1881, by Charles J. Guiteau. Garfield was shot in the back while walking through a Washington, D.C., railroad station. He died from his wounds on September 19, 1881.
