Borussia Dortmund's hopes of winning the Bundesliga title were shattered on the final day of the season as they were held to a 3-1 away draw by FSV Mainz 05. The result means that Bayern Munich, who defeated VfL Wolfsburg 2-1, claim their 10th consecutive league title.

Mainz took the lead in the first half through a goal from Silvan Widmer. Dortmund equalized in the second half through Karim Adeyemi, but Mainz regained the advantage through Stefan Bell. Marcus Ingvartsen sealed the win for Mainz in the 85th minute.

The draw leaves Dortmund in second place in the Bundesliga, five points behind Bayern Munich. It is the first time since 2012 that Dortmund have finished behind Bayern in the league.
